The quality of the glass substrate surface modification is always a critical issue in microarray analysis. As CapitalBio, the slide surface modification process has been optimized for uniformity and compatibility with a number of reactive groups.
CapitalBio offers a full set of precision modified glass slides, for both contact and non-contact printing of various nuclear acids and proteins.
OPAminoSlide
AminoSlide contains amino groups, which can be used for attachment of nucleic acids, esp. long (>70 mer) oligonucleotides and PCR products. The electrostatic interaction between the positively charged amino groups on the surface and the negatively charged nucleotide chains are strengthened after heating or UV crosslinking treatment. The surface wettability is slightly adjustable to meet different requirements for spot diameters. Low background fluorescence, high surface coating homogeneity and good spot morphology make it an excellent substrate for gene expression analysis and SNP microarray tests.
OPAldehydeSlide
AldehydeSlide contains aldehyde groups for covalent binding of amine-modified nucleotides, esp. short amine-modified oligonucleotides. No heating or UV crosslinking treatment is required for immobilization for AldehydeSlide, which make it easier to use.
OPEpoxySlide
EpoxySlide contains epoxy groups, which has been proved to have good reactivity to primary amine-containing peptides and protein molecules. The surface wettability is slightly adjustable to meet different requirements for spot diameters.

OPPolymerSlide
PolySlide has a thin polysaccharide surface of layer, which enables excellent spot morphologies and consistent spot sizes. Due to the porous nature of the 3D polymeric coating layer with abundant activated covalent binding sites, PolySlide is superior for maintaining protein activity and is suitable for protein microarray construction.

Each step of slide surface modification is under stringent control in a state-of-the-art clean-room. Slide products undergo rigid quality control inspections, including contact angle measurement to monitor surface wetting characteristics, background scanning for coating homogenity and standard experiments for immobilization and hybridization/immunoreaction ability testing.
