10 mM dNPTs, dATP, dCTP, dGTP, and dTTP (2'-desxynucleoside'triphosphates) have been designed to substitute the dNTP mixes in experiments using each of them independently (e.g. reactions using labelled nucleotides). Nucleotide Triphosphates are necessary for the synthesis of new DNA strands (e.g. DNA amplification, sequencing, nick translation, fill-in, cDNA synthesis, and TdT tailing reactions).

Individual dNTPs are supplied as convenient, ready-to-use solutions at a concentration of 10 mM in ultrapure water.
